Have Courage and Be Kind!!!

These words have special meaning to both Jess and Debbie. 

Jess:

Have Courage and Be Kind! These words really speak to me...and I can't help but think of Cinderella who was such a good-hearted role model! She was tormented but remained honest to herself and always showed kindness, and in some very hard circumstances! Isn't it ironic how Kindness and courage almost always go hand in hand. It takes courage to be kind. It is a choice to be kind! Being kind doesn't happen overnight. It isn't a face that we can put on when life is easy or we feel like it.  It is a habit we grow into day to day...a trait that will influence everyone around you! But also kindness isn't a passive trait. It doesn't mean you need to be taken advantage of or tolerate unkind behavior! Sometimes the very courage we have helps us to walk away from relationships and situations that aren’t good for us. I truly believe this saying....Have courage, and be kind.  No matter how beautiful life can be, or how ugly and terrible, that's what can sustain us. 

Deb:

It takes courage to be who we were called to be...kind, loving, selfless, encouraging and yet assertive and true to ones self.

It also takes courage to overcome obstacles while still maintaining a true sense of self, innocence, and goodness within, without letting the unkind, unfair, or the way people treat you, change your heart.  It is easy to be mean, and many people take the easy way out. Being kind takes more effort, humility, thought, and at times great sacrifice.

The quote "Have Courage and be Kind" reminds me of Mother Teresa's words:  

 

People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered.  
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.  
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. 
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. 
Be honest and sincere anyway.
What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. 
Create anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. 
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, will often be forgotten. 
Do good anyway.
Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. 
Give your best anyway.
In the final analysis, it is between you and God. 
It was never between you and them anyway.
