This was my first actual "kitchen" segment on Good Things Utah. We have taught about snacks and food but it was fun to actually make something on TV!! Thanks Megan for the new experience!! What is that perfect snack when you need a taste of
something sweet and filling but want to avoid reaching for that cookie or
cake… here is how to make a yummy Protein Bite that everyone in your family will
love!
PB
Protein Bites
2 1/2 C. All Natural Adam’s
Chunky PB
1 C. Honey
½ C. Water
Mix together in large bowl
and then add:
2 T. Ground Flax
2 T. Popped/Toasted Amaranth
Grain
1 C. Chocolate PB2 Powder
Mix together with PB &
Honey mixture.
Then add:
3 C. Brown Rice Krispies
½ C. Raw Oats (uncooked)
½ C. Chia Seeds
Shape into balls and freeze! or you can scoop into a mini muffin tin or make bars!
Anyway you choose to do it, you can't go wrong!!
Optional:
½ C. Slivered Almonds
1 C. Coconut
½ C. dark Chocolate Chips
(melted and drizzled over)
Why did we choose these ingredients?
1) Adam's Natural Chunky PB. Doesn't contain any partially hydrogenated oil or trans fat.
2) Ground Flax. Great source of Omega-3 Fatty Acids. Good Antioxidants and Fiber source.
3) Amaranth. Good Protein Source & naturally gluten free. Also contains all the essential amino acids.
4) Chia Seeds. Among one of the healthiest foods available. They deliver massive amounts of nutrients with very few calories. Loaded with Antioxidants & fiber. High in quality protein and also contain Omega-3 Fatty acids.
